John Boos Block MPL1812125-FH-GRV Prestige Maple Wood Edge Grain:at our store, we stock over 2000 models, so if you see the manufacturer, but not the model, don't be shy - give us a call and we will be happy to check! After hand washing and drying after each use, then oiling with their "mystery" oil weekly - (mineral oil) and being stored in an air conditioned house, it has warped a good 1/8" along the 12" dimension. Now when trying to cut it wobbles with each stroke. I wrote the company and they replied: "I would recommend to liberally oil the board with mystery oil or mineral oil (found in a pharmacy dept). Wrap in dry cleaning plastic or saran wrap to hold in the moisture. Use some type of weight to place on the board.( sugar, flour, potatoes)Let it sit on a flat surface.. ( would not recommend granite or concrete) Let it sit for a bought a week to acclimate to the environment. This will then go back to the original form."So if you want a cutting board that you have to wrap for a week to get it back to flat, this is for you. I guess it will surely warp again with use. Go elsewhere for your cutting board.san jose mall, very popular!,sold outJohn Boos Block MPL1812125-FH-GRV Prestige Maple Wood Edge Grain

Product description

Size:18 by 12 by 1.25 Inches

Bring home a culinary icon with a classic Prestige Cutting Board by John Boos. Prestige Boards are versatile heirloom quality boards that measure 1.25 inches thick. Each Prestige board features sleek edge grain construction, resulting in a modern linear grain pattern. Curved edges complete the look of this unique collection.

John Boos products are designed to meet the demanding expectations of commercial kitchens, and exceed the highest level of quality and food safety standards. Each board and block is made from sustainably harvested North American hardwoods, and offers a commercial grade cutting surface that protects the sharp edge on fine cutlery. Often imitated, John Boos and Co. is internationally known for its expertise in crafting American hardwoods into products of beauty, durability and function.

Simple board care can ensure this heirloom, handcrafted board is a favorite in your kitchen for years to come. Every John Boos Board and Block comes with a food safe natural oil finish that helps protect the wood during transit. Once a month, apply an even coat of NSF Approved John Boos Mystery Oil (sold separately), and allow it to soak in overnight. Repeat this process more often when the board is brand new and “thirsty,” or if you live in a dry, arid climate. John Boos recommends applying John Boos Board Cream (also sold separately) to seal the top of the wood surface after applying the Mystery Oil. A few quick minutes of regular oil application will ensure your new board is properly seasoned, and ready for work! After use, wash board with warm, soapy water (all wooden cutting boards are not dishwasher safe and should not be soaked in water).

Since 1887, every genuine John Boos cutting board and butcher block has been proudly made in Effingham, Illinois by skilled craftspeople using time honored techniques. Today, USA made John Boos cutting boards and butcher blocks are used and loved in commercial and home kitchens worldwide.

All Abuzz About Bugs!

We are an online community of naturalists who enjoy learning about and sharing our observations of insects, spiders, and other related creatures.

We enjoy the opportunity to instill in others the fascination and appreciation that we share for the intricate lives of these oft-maligned creatures.

Our Mission

Using the best resources we have access to, we are creating a knowledgebase to help each other and the online community.

Our Method

We collect photographs of bugs from the United States and Canada for identification and research.

We summarize our findings in guide pages for each order, family, genus, and species.

Making New Discoveries

More than just a clearinghouse for information, this site helps expand on the natural histories of our subjects. By capturing the place and time that submitted images were taken, we are creating a virtual collection that helps define where and when things might be found.

We capture never-before-seen behaviors and we have photos of species that you won't find anywhere else on the web.
