This product is exactly as depicted and described. It is a set of bamboo strips glued together like a butcher block, with a slanted groove cut in it. I like this for leaving on my butcher block bar, for when I am sitting to eat and I want to use my iPad mini or iPhone in a way like reading the newspaper, sort of. When I am in bed, I like my iPad to just be simple, with a slim ballistic rubber type case just on the back of my pad. I don't like the magnetic front flap that folds up to form a stand, because they wear out too fast and they just flop around in the way being annoying. My slim rubber case has a slot and a hole, both for holding my Apple pencil. Those accomodations are important here, as this stand has no pencil hole or other means for holding your apple pencil momentarily. If this concerns you, then you may need to consider a couple of minor modifications, such as drilling a hole yourself, and putting rubber feet on the bottom so it doesn't slide while you draw on it. I would say those are very minor modifications.
