I'm using this with a 16" baton on my nylon duty gear. The small baton is held firmly and is sometimes a little difficult to get out with one hand. It may be better to keep this near the front of your gear, and not around your back. That way if it doesn't clear then you can use both hands to get it out. I am aware, however, that this is new and may loosen up with use. Outside of that, it seems like a nice durable material, and ultimately, I like it better than the old plastic holster. How many of us remember the ASP flying out of the old plastic holster for no reason at all, or the rubber band on the baton to hold it in...lol.Update:05/31/2016Well, as I guessed it might, this has loosened up a bit with use. The baton is not nearly as difficult to get out now. In fact, it's just about right. Loose enough to get out easily, but not so loose that it will slip out. The 7312 AccuMold Expandable Baton Holder features a hole in the back for convenient reholstering of extended batons. Molded and contoured trilaminate construction with Coptex knit lining. Conveniently fits both 2 in. (50 mm) and 2.25 in. (58 mm). duty belts.
