Love these things! I use them to transport and then drip-acclimate breeders from one tank to another. My guppies and endlers give birth in them (learned I needed to put some artificial plant pieces in the box above the separator to help them feel secure enough to bear, even though the slit in the trough is usually enough). I then feed the fry for a few weeks in the box, then finally move them to grow-out tanks where I use the box to acclimate them. All in all, these are fabulous. I'd like to have a dozen more, but the price tripled after I bought them recently. They are on my watch list!If you are troubled by the gurgling and bubbling noise, simply put a flow-valve (think one-way gang valve, 90-deg or turn-style shut-off) in the air line and turn it down until you cannot hear the gurgles but there is still some water flow into the box. You'd be surprised how much water is flowing even with just a few bubbles! I touch the outflow with a finger to see how much water is actually escaping.For those who hate these, I'd buy them from you for what I paid Amazon three months ago! HaHa. Just Kidding! No, really, I'm kidding. The Fluval Multi-Chamber Holding amp; Breeding Box is ideal for those looking for a convenient way to separate fish from the tank. This is usually done during breeding and as a maturation tank for young fry; but there are other times when fish may need to be isolated. This box does this without taking up space in the tank.
